MPIA (Malaysian Photovoltaic Industry Association) has been raising awareness about solar photovoltaic (PV) technology in Malaysia for the past two decades. Established the organization in 2006 with an initial seed grant from the Malaysia Building Integrated Photovoltaic (MBIPV) Project, a project jointly implemented by United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the then, Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications (KTAK) with initial membership of around 45. Today, MPIA has nearly 200 members and other successful outcomes of the MBIPV Project includes the establishment of Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) which is instrumental in driving both renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives in the country.
