Shamsul Amri Sulaiman
Mechanical and nuclear engineering backgrounds. Professional Engineer and Professional Technologist. Holds a BSc. (USA) in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc. (Republic of Korea) in Nuclear and Quantum Engineering, and a PhD (USA) in Nuclear Engineering, with a concentration on thermal-hydraulics and safety. More than 25 years' experience in project management of thermal power plants (coal-fired and combined cycle gas turbine), including demolition and new plant-up. Also heavily involved in preparatory and pre-project activities related to nuclear power, as well as lecturing in nuclear engineering-related courses. Previous portfolio covers international and domestic operation and maintenance of open-cycle gas turbines, combined cycle gas turbines, diesel-powered and coal-fired power plants. The recent portfolio includes leading the management of a special purpose vehicle within an ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant (2 x 1,000 MW), as well as future explorations of ammonia, biomass, and coal (ABC) co-firing. Appointed as an adjunct professor at the Institute of Nuclear Energy, UNITEN. Engaged in the country's nuclear power research and development, as well as planning and preparatory activities.
