Mr.Sawapop Takapong, is currently the chief of Transmission System Security Planning Department, Power System Planning Division, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), with well-expertise involving in transmission system development planning. He has been playing the vital role in pushing forward and developing the implementation of transmission system in Thailand to cope with the growing electricity demand, to enhance the security and flexibility of the power system, to renovate the aging transmission system, and to accommodate power purchase from both domestic and foreign Independent Power Producers (IPPs) including installation of battery energy storage system (BESS) in Chaiyaphum and Lop Buri Provinces for mitigating impact from renewable energy.''
