Choon Gek Khoo, Ph.D., is a Research Analyst in the Global Power Research team at S&P Global Commodity Insights, based in Penang, Malaysia. Choon Gek provides in-depth market research on Southeast Asia’s power and renewable markets, focusing on regional energy policy and market fundamentals analysis. Her responsibilities extend to Asia Pacific data analytics, where she enhances and manages the release of dashboards covering power assets and green financing projects. Prior to joining S&P Global, she conducted research at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on technologies for cultivating and converting energy-rich microalgal biomass into biofuels. Dr. Khoo holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Pahang AlSultan Abdullah, and a Ph.D. from USM, both in Malaysia
