Masanori Yuri
Masanori Yuri leads the Gas Turbine Combined Cycle (GTCC) Business Division at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI). He is responsible for setting the growth strategy and spearheading innovation for MHI’s global gas turbine business, including designing highly efficient GTCC systems and increasing the hydrogen-firing capacity of gas turbines. Yuri is an expert in gas turbine engineering, with more than three decades of experience specialising in power generation performance and secondary air systems design. Since joining MHI in April 1993, he has played an instrumental role in the development of the company’s flagship large gas turbines, including the F-series, the G-series as well as the latest JAC-series models with their industry-leading efficiency of 64% in combined cycle. In 2020, he became head of MHI’s gas turbine technology department.
Since 2004, Yuri has worked extensively on gas turbine projects with the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Japan’s national research and development agency. Yuri also led gas turbine development efforts for Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. and was based in the company’s headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida for three years. Based in Hyogo prefecture, Japan, Yuri holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nagaoka University of Technology. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and riding his road bike.
