Jhan Chan
Dr. Jhan Yhee CHAN is Arup's Energy Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Leader for its Australasia Region. He joined Arup in 2016 in he UK and moved to Singapore in 2022.
Jhan specialises in energy advisory and infrastructure projects that require power systems and electrical T&D expertise. Jhan has a Master’s Degree in Power Systems & Economics, and a PhD in Electrical Energy, both acquired from The University of Manchester, UK.
Jhan started his career in the UK as a Power System Researcher. His career spans across academic research, engineering consultancy, network planning, and industrial R&D. Over the past 18 years, Jhan has led numerous projects that enabled the deployment of large-scale renewable energy in the UK, Europe and APAC. He currently heads up the Arup Singapore Energy team, advising developers, network operators and government agencies on grid connection, interconnectors and regional grids in Southeast Asia.
