YBhg. Dato’ Hamzah bin Hussin has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of SEDA Malaysia on 22nd February 2021. After assuming office, YBhg. Dato’ Hamzah leads SEDA in assisting the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change in driving the sustainable energy agenda and delivering the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) commitment. His efforts focused on promoting RE generation via Feed-In Tariff (FIT) mechanism that ensures renewable energy becomes a viable and promising investment for companies and industries which drives toward releasing more quotas for FIT projects in 2021 and 2022. As it is timely in pushing the sustainable energy agenda further, YBhg. Dato’ Hamzah leads SEDA’steam in implementing several initiatives, which include the Sustainability Achieved via Energy Efficiency (SAVE) 3.0, NEM 3.0, and the Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap (MyRER). Each of the initiatives was part of the Government's effort to achieve the national target of 31 percent installed renewable energy capacity by 2025 and 40 percent by 2035 while contributing toward climate action.

YBhg. Dato’ Hamzah bin Hussin obtained his Bachelor of Economics (Analytical Economics) from University of Malaya in the year of 1999. His in-depth portfolio and vast experiences in the field of management, administration, strategic planning, and government policies are valuable attributes to the organisation as well as the sustainable energy landscape in the country.
