Balikpapan, 2 June 2024 – PT PLN (Persero) has successfully completed 3 (three) high-voltage infrastructure to support the electricity system of the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago. The three infrastructures with a Domestic Component Level realization of 67.29% include 1 unit of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and 2 units of 150 kilovolt (kV) transmission network.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated that PLN is fully committed to supporting the government’s efforts in building IKN with a smart, beautiful and environmentally friendly Forest City concept.
“We are fully committed to supporting green electricity infrastructure in IKN. “This will be the best capital city with advanced technology, using clean energy sources supported by the most advanced and aesthetic Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based smart technology,” said Darmawan.
Darmawan continued, PLN’s success in completing the construction of electricity infrastructure has also contributed to increasing the progress of IKN development. This is the company’s commitment to support the Government in the development of IKN as well as preparations for the ceremony commemorating the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN which will be chaired directly by President Joko Widodo on 17 August.
“PLN continues to prepare an electrical system that is in line with the grand design of IKN development. “Including preparations for the commemoration ceremony for the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence in August, we have prepared everything to support the success of this historic moment at IKN,” he said.
General Manager of PLN’s East Kalimantan Main Development Unit, Raja Muda Siregar, explained that his party had succeeded in completing the electricity infrastructure in a short time and without disturbing the existing electricity system.
“We succeeded in carrying out the initial energization of these three infrastructures without disrupting the existing electricity system and it was completed in less than 1 year,” said Raja.
Raja explained that these two transmission networks were built with a total length of 52.8 circuit kilometers (kms) and GIS IKN was the first in East Kalimantan with a capacity of 120 Megavolt amperes (MVA).
Apart from that, he also appreciated the collaboration of stakeholders ranging from local government, officials, the community to work partners involved in completing this electricity infrastructure.
“We really appreciate and are grateful for the support from all relevant stakeholders so that PLN can complete the provision of electricity infrastructure for IKN Nusantara,” concluded Raja.
